Enjoying Life

Hello Dallas in the Spring! :)

Well, hello all, I know I get frustrated when the blogs I read aren't updated.. :) Oops! The past month has been busy. This past week was a nice week after several weeks of working very hard at the JOB. But this week has been a happy combination of lunch dates with friends, gorgeous weather, pedicure, phone dates, bike rides around the lake, lots of shopping for my house AND the purchase of my new mac. :)

I've also been cooking up some colorful delights for myself. :) I did make lunch and dinner for a dear doctor i work with, as he and his wife had a new little one! That was fun to make and serve them. The only problem of seeing their recently redone home...it made me want to get mine together even more!! :) So thus, I went off on the shopping kick! I bought several new purchases for the second bedroom, including a huge ikea map, some lanterns, curtains, mosquito net, pillows. I also found some great clothing sales at my favorite store, Anthropologie.

I also met with the painter, who is to paint a few rooms in my house this next week. This will take place when I am out of town. I am heading to the good ole southeast this next week!! For a 6 day trip to see the fam and friends. :) Yeah! I'm looking forward to it!!

This past weekend has been great fun as well! I was blessed to have my small group bible study over Friday night for appetizers, wine and game night. Funny thing is..it was 5 girls together and we enjoyed just chatting. We only played a round or so of catch phrase b/c we were enjoying learning more about each other. And laughing. :) Good times. Saturday was a jam packed day with two friends, Allison and Brooke. We went to the Kozy Kitchen, which is this fab little organic place, where I enjoyed a fresh omelette including sundried tomatoes, goat cheese, asparagus and spinach. :) Then we headed out to the Dallas Flea, which is a combination of local artists and shops around town. (an upscale flea market). The show cost 5$ and then you just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. I got some great finds! I bought some new ORANGE candlesticks, a new painting, older painted frame and a few gifts for upcoming friend's birthdays. Yesterday I also picked up some new clothes at Target for one of my favorite little patients. :)

So after the flea, we headed to Dimples, a new cupcakery in town. We tested the wedding cake and the red velvet cake. YUMMY! I liked the wedding cake one the best. :) Then we went and saw the movie, Remember Me. Very intense, but well made movie. I enjoyed it. I felt a range of emotions, which I think is a mark of a good movie. Well played! I was able to catch a quick nap, in all the excitement. Then last evening we went to Jorge's, which is in One Arts District near the Opera House and enjoyed Shrimp Diablo and a splendita (a margarita made with splenda). :) with the girls! So it was a fun day enjoyed by all.

Today I had to work at the hospital. Since I've been there a year, I now have to work every 4th Sunday. Not too terrible. We had a wonderful day today, filled with loving on the babies. :) they were all a little moody, after losing one hour of sleep. :) But we made it through! I hope to get back to Northwest Bible Church to worship there more regularly, once I"m back in town.

Well, I must go get together my to-do list, so I can master it tomorrow, as I leave town for the parents on Tuesday, straight after work! I cannot wait to share the stories of the trip AND photos of my newly painted casa.

Love to you all! Have a great week! Enjoy the weather, try a dish you've never tried before, be courageous and love others!

  1. TAYLOR! I love your blog, it is TOO CUTE! I want to know where you got that awesome table runner?? I am looking to bring one accent color into my dinning room, I just cant pick one. AND loving Clemson as much as I do, have not incorporated orange into any color scheme yet... I also have to find a complementary color for the kitchen too. I hope all is well and travel safely!!!
